The Aviation Medicine Advisory Service (AMAS) has been providing Aeromedical consultation to the nation’s largest airline unions since 1969. AMAS has seven physicians board certified in Aerospace Medicine and typically one or more fields such as Family Practice, Psychiatry, or Occupational Medicine. Because of the growing demand to offer services to friends and family outside the unions, the group formed Virtual Flight Surgeons® Inc. in 1997 working out of the same offices with co-founders Quay Snyder, MD and Keith Martin, MD. The two companies merged in 2010 and continue to offer the nation’s premier Aeromedical services as AMAS.
Advocates and Allies for the People We Represent
AMAS has one singular focus: to represent and protect the aeromedical needs and support the careers of airmen and others in related fields who must maintain medical certification to continue in their jobs. AMAS’ unparalleled staff of physicians and case managers have the experience and credibility in the aviation medical profession to give you the best opportunity to stay certified and, therefore, in the air. We navigate the complex and sometimes overwhelming certification process with expertise and efficiency. No other provider of aeromedical advocacy services has the experience that AMAS provides its customers. And no other provider will.
I have worked with AMAS for several years. There is no need to look elsewhere; they are the best in their field. They have assisted me in maintaining my special issuance 2nd Class Medical with great medical expertise. Many thanks AMAS, keep up the great work!
AMAS is one of the least-known but very best member-only benefits. When facing a medical qualification issue that affects the future of your career, AMAS provides board-certified, respected doctors to assist in answering questions and representing members.
In 2003, I was diagnosed with coronary artery disease and had an angioplasty and successful stent placement. The AMAS team made the entire process relatively painless and much less time consuming. I would not hesitate to recommend their services.
I am very impressed with the work of AMAS — how you were so proactive in keeping me informed about the status of my case and the prompt attention you gave to my phone calls. As a satisfied customer, I will be a very strong advocate for AMAS going forward.
My medical was put on hold due to a wrong and unprofessional medical evaluation. After contacting AMAS, I had my medical reinstated in less than 2 months. It is my unshakable belief I could not have gotten a more result-driven company anywhere else.
